A little about Hay Bay.

Hay Bay lies just south of Napanee, within the Bay of Quinte water system. It’s known for walleye fishing, with largemouth bass and northern pike also found in its waters.

Farmland, cottages, and campgrounds line the surrounding shores, with open views across the water.

Good to know before you go.

We want the cottage to be the right fit for your group. These are the practical details guests appreciate knowing upfront.

What to bring
  • Food and water for drinking and brushing teeth.
  • Towels and paper products, plus extra blankets for cooler fall days.
  • Firewood if you plan to use the fire pit.
  • Properly fitted personal flotation devices for everyone using the water equipment.
  • Fishing equipment if you plan to fish, and your own motor if you plan to use the cottage’s 16-foot aluminum fishing boat.
Drinking water

Use the drinking water you bring for brushing teeth too; the hosts do not certify the cottage water’s safety for those uses. A dispenser for 18.9 L jugs is available.

Wi-Fi & mobile service

There is no Wi-Fi or TV, but cell service is excellent.

A natural property

The landscape is intentionally natural, with a maturing meadow on the lane and waterside. There is no grassy play area. Expect seasonal bugs and the textures of a relaxed lakeside property.

House rules & safety
  • No parties or events.
  • Enter the water and use water equipment at your own risk. Keep children within arm’s reach and under constant supervision in the water or on the beach.
  • The hosts do not certify the safety of the flotation devices provided. Bring properly fitted personal flotation devices for your group.
  • Before lighting a fire in the fire pit, call the fire reporting number posted on the fridge and follow current fire restrictions.
Caring for the cottage

Close the windows when it rains, and keep all cottage items on the property, including chairs and kitchen supplies.
